Cheryl has been committed to dance and theater for the majority of her life. Although her career path has taken many turns her passion and love for the art has never wavered. That is why today she has opened The Dance Warehouse and developed Command Performance Competition Team. Her life long goal has been to have a place that offers the many diverse tracks of classes similar to the ones followed in NYC and LA., so that all types of classes and styles are included.
Cheryl has been fortunate enough to dance professionally throughout the United States, Canada and Europe and has studied with world renowned choreographers, teachers, artists and directors such as John Landis, Mel Brooks, Jaime Rogers, Michael Jackson, Natalie Cole, Joe Tremaine, Doug Caldwell, just to name a few. She has spent the majority of the last 15 years as a director, choreographer and judge across the US and abroad. She teaches master classes in jazz, tap, lyrical, strengthening and core training, musical theater and acting.
She has also worked for CBS, ABC, NBC, appeared in commercials, television and film and video. Some of her previous roles were: Thriller, Days of our Lives, Young and the Restless, Roseanne, Arista, MGM, Metro-Goldwyn, Coca Cola, Pantene, Country Time Lemonade, Fame (series), HBO, Kent State, History of the World Part 1, and many other roles.
She currently resides in Fort Myers with her husband and daughter and continues to train and work with the top people in the industry so that she is able to share the knowledge with her students.
Born in Maracaibo Venezuela, Mr. Navarro began his ballet training at the “State of Zulia Ballet School” under the direction of the Artistic Director Guillermo Gonzalez. After graduating Mr. Navarro joined “Ballet Danzarte de Maracaibo” as a principal soloist. During that time he performed in many classical pieces as “Swan Lake”, “Chopiniana”, ” The Nutcracker” and many others. Few years later Mr. Navarro received an invitation to join “Ballet de Maracaibo” as a principal dancer under the direction of Nedo Vojkic and years later became a part of “The National Ballet of Caracas” directed by Vicente Nebrada.
Being a principal dancer of “The Teresa Carreno Theater”, Mr. Navarro had a chance to participate in multiple international tours, galas and ballet festivals in Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, USA, Spain, Canada. In his repertoire he has danced classical and neoclassical principal and leading roles in world famous ballets such as “Swan Lake”, “Paquita”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “The Nutcracker”, “Cinderella”, “Coppelia”, “Raymonda”, “Chopiniana”, “Giselle”, “Walpurgis Night”, “Flower Festival”, “Midsummer’s Night Dream”, “Le Corsaire”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Firebird”, “Fiebre” and “Batucada Fantastica”. During his career as a dancer Mr. Navarro has also performed for TV Show Pageant “Miss Venezuela”, TV commercials and music videos.
After discovering his passion for teaching and ballet coaching Mr. Navarro got trained by Irina Ivanova, a ballet mistress graduated from The Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet which he finished in the year of 2002 with a diploma certified in pedagogy and classical repertoire under the method of Vaganova. During his career Mr. Navarro was trained by Sonja Stamberg, Rafael Portillo, Vicente Nebrada, Vladimir Loupujov, Ruta Butvilliene, Rumen Rachev, Sasha Vojkic and Vladimir Issaev.
Mr Navarro performed multiple character roles such as Mother Comedia for the Miami City Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker”, Dr. Coppelius in “Coppelia”, Widow Simone in “La Fille Mal Gardee” for the America’s ballet School in Tampa, Gamache in “Don Quixote” and Stepsister in “Cinderella” for the South Florida Ballet Theater, Soldier in “Carmen” for the Gamonet Ballet, the evil Carabose in “The Sleeping Beauty”, Mother Comedia, Mouse King and Dr. Stahlbaum for the Gulfshore Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker”. After moving to Fort Myers Mr. Navarro continues pursuing his passion for coaching, teaching and shares his knowledge and experience in dance.
Kristi grew up in a suburb of Memphis, TN. She has been dancing for 27 years and coaching and teaching dance for 19 years. She danced on a competitive team all through middle school and high school. After high school Kristi danced for her college dance team and also danced professionally for a semi pro football team, The Memphis Samurai.
Kristi began her coaching career at the age of 18 coaching a middle school team when she was a senior in high school. Over the years she has taught choreography to schools all across the Mid-south and coached several teams in state, regional, and national levels. Under her direction she has coached teams to several regional titles, 6 state championships in Mississippi (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), national championships through National Dance Alliance (NDA) held in Orlando, FL (SM Varsity Hip Hop national champions 2008, SM Varsity Hip Hop National Champions 2009, SM Varsity Hip Hop National Champions 2010, Junior High Pom National Champions 2018).
Kristi recently moved to Fort Myers with her family in 2017. She is excited to grow her dance career in Florida. She is excited about joining the staff at The Dance Warehouse and teaching the students to grow as dancers and as individuals throughout the season.
Natasha grew up in a small town in upstate New York. She has always enjoyed the arts and theater and soon after High school found her passion for photography. Natasha attended college for photography and turned her passion into a business after having her daughter.
Natasha is a military spouse and has spent the last 12 years traveling the country with her husband. The most recent transfer is what brought her to Fort Myers, FL and to The Dance Warehouse.
Britny grew up just outside of Philadelphia, PA. She began her training at the age of 3 in a small dance studio near her hometown. Britny competed for several years and was the captain of her high school dance team for 2 years. She then moved studios and started dancing on their traveling performance team where she got to dance all over the east coast as well as the Bahamas. Britny danced for her college team for 4 years and was also the Vice President of the organization, as well as a company member.
Britny began teaching at the age of 17 at an elementary school in her hometown. She has also taught at her alma mater, Millersville University and Viktor Yeliohin’s International Ballet Academy.
Britny recently moved to Fort Myers to pursue her other passion, television producing. She is currently a producer at ABC 7 and NBC 2. She is excited to grow both of her passions in Southwest Florida and she cant wait to see you at The Dance Warehouse.
